The inspiration for the Tunnelma CCT Led lighting design came from the countless meetings Halttu had with families while doing lighting design. Each room has different needs due to materials and textures, and this product family was created to address those individual requirements and put an end to color temperature disputes with customers. With a high color rendering index (CRI) of 98, these LED lights provide exceptional quality at an affordable price range.

The Tunnelma CCT Led product family is designed to be Smart Home ready, with support for Zigbee or DALI2 systems. This allows users to connect the lights to any smart lighting system, providing even more customization options. The design features a full aluminum frame, ensuring durability and eliminating the use of plastics. The LED lights have a simple connection system with three wires, making installation a breeze. They can be used with any well-established CCT LED driver or controller.

Technical specifications of the Tunnelma CCT Led lighting design include a CRI of 95-98, a lifespan of 5-7 years, and a voltage of 24V. The design is compatible with various lighting systems and offers two options for customers. The basic option allows users to choose between three color temperatures (2900K, 4000K, and 5500K) using the provided driver. The customizable option allows for even more flexibility, as the LED light can be used freely within the 2900K-5500K range by removing the provided driver.

The development of the Tunnelma CCT Led product family began in 2018, with the downlights launching in 2019 and the LED panels and light strips following in 2020. Throughout the design process, Halttu conducted extensive research to ensure the lights met the specific requirements of the Finnish construction field. The lights needed to fit into the most common ceiling type in Finland, have a maximum height of 55mm, and provide approximately 600 lumens of light output.

The Tunnelma CCT Led lighting design overcame few challenges during its development, with only a few prototypes needed before production began. The main challenge was securing the necessary funding for prototyping and production.

The Tunnelma CCT Led lighting design, created by Janne Halttu, has been recognized for its outstanding creativity and resourcefulness. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category in 2023. This prestigious award honors designs that incorporate best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
